The Future of More Sustainable Pallets
The Company commissioned an independent, peer-reviewed, life cycle assessment study (the “LCA Study”) to compare the environmental impacts of RM2’s BLOCKPal pallet with those of the standard multi-trip wood pallet.
The results of the LCA Study show that the BLOCKPal pallet provides significant sustainability advantages compared to the standard multi-trip wood pallet. The standard multi-trip wood pallet is itself regarded as a more sustainable alternative to the single-trip white wood pallet.
RM2 is able to demonstrate to major corporations that the BLOCKPal pallet can help them achieve sustainability goals and reduce their carbon footprint, whilst also reducing cost and improving the quality of assets in their supply chains.
Understanding the RM2 Pallet’s Reduced Environmental Impact

Reduced GWP by 1,420,000 lbs CO2 per million pallet trips
Reduced Primary Energy Demand (PED) by 50%
Reduced PED by 40 million MJ per million pallet trips

Reduced Eutrophication Potential (EP) by 44%

21% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emission during pallet use, driven mainly by BLOCKPal’s lower weight.
Because they last much longer, 1/5th as many BLOCKPal pallets are required to deliver the same number of total pallet trips.
Reduced Loss Rate
RM2ELIoT identifies each pallet’s location and effectively minimizes pallet loss, and reduces user replacement costs related to GHG impact.
Lack of Chemical Treatment
The Composite material from which the BLOCKPal is constructed does not need treatment with harmful chemical agents for infestation control or fire retardency which affect both use and disposal.
