The pultrusion technology used to create and shape the material into the final product is an established process for high performance environments. It allows component profiles to be manufactured to give high and consistent performance.
The Fabrication process involves precise machine cutting and profiling of the pultruded length of composite material to tolerances within .009 inch. These tolerances are critical to the automated robot assembly processes and maintain the exceptional handling characteristics of the pallet during its lifetime. The composite materials used in the construction of an RM2 pallet create a challenging environment with respect to cutting and shaping of the pallet components. RM2 utilises state of the art waterjet processes and custom designed machining centres to overcome these challenges.
The RM2 BLOCKPal is assembled by multiple robot stations on automated production lines, each of these custom designed lines can produce approximately 800,000 pallets per year. The precision automated process ensures consistency of build while maintaining very high quality and tolerance thresholds. The effective use of bonding adhesives in precise quantities, pressures and timing are essential in ensuring the life cycle durability of the RM2 pallet.
