Chatham, New Jersey – October 8, 2015 – RM2 USA exhibited for the first time at PACK Expo, held last week at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Company executives were extremely pleased with the response to the unique and reusable Total Pallet Solution that was introduced at the show. When the three-day show concluded on September 30, the final totals were
impressive. “By displaying in the Reusable Packaging Association area of PACK Expo it absolutely exceeded all of our expectations. We left Las Vegas with high quality leads from forward thinking companies looking for solutions to improve their Supply Chain operations,” said David Kalan, VP of Marketing and Business Development for RM2.
PACK Expo served as an introduction ceremony for the company’s BLOCKPal™ pallet. The reimagined, composite pallet serves as a sustainable and affordable option compared to traditional wood pallets. Kalan commented that many Supply Chain operators and others at the show now have a better understanding of the many advantages BLOCKPal has to offer.
“Nearly everyone we talked to was impressed by the strength of our pallet. Many thought it was steel when they first handled it,” recalled Kalan. “They also remarked about the sustainability it could bring to their operations. Having the option to either purchase it outright or the ability to rent or lease it was another attractive factor in our discussions, especially those who experience high volume levels on a daily basis.”
Kalan said the BLOCKPal pallet is available in all standard industry sizes and is manufactured to withstand maximum weight and wide ranging temperatures. Its strength exceeds industry standards; the racking load is measured at 6,500 lbs., with a static load of 60,000 lbs. and dynamic at 9,800 lbs. It is capable of withstanding temperatures between -40° and 176° F. “The fact that our pallet is non-porous was another plus for the people we spoke with who are involved in the Food and Consumer Packaged Goods segments. They understand the benefits of how BLOCKPal can drive efficiency and reduce environmental waste while generating significant cost savings in their warehouses,” Kalan said.
BLOCKPal is tracked by the asset management system ERICA to minimize lost pallets. Data generated by ERICA allows RM2 to identify areas of risk within the supply chain, correspondently reducing the number of replacement pallets that would otherwise have to be manufactured. ERICA also can monitor returnable assets and equipment use, regardless of the supplier.
